About the role:
Montana State Fund is the state's largest workers' compensation insurance company, protecting approximately 25,000 businesses, organizations and their workers. We are seeking a visionary and strategic thinker to join the executive leadership team as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The ideal candidate will bring proactive leadership and extensive financial expertise within the insurance industry, with a strong preference for experience in workers' compensation insurance. This role involves overseeing all financial operations, driving strategic financial planning, and modeling forecasting behavior.
Duties and responsibilities:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's long-term vision and goals.
Monitor and make recommendations regarding organizational revenue and expenses.
Provide strategic guidance to the executive team on financial matters.
Provide projections and trend information for budget, capital management, and financial reporting.
Oversee the development and implementation of robust financial forecasting models.
Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational needs.
Monitor financial performance and adjust forecasts and strategies as needed.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity.
Experience:
Bachelor�s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years within the insurance industry. Experience in workers' compensation insurance is highly desirable.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and visionary leadership abilities.
Strong expertise in financial forecasting and modeling.
