About the role:
We are partnering with an established, purpose-driven insurance organization that is looking for an Associate Director of Network Engineering to lead a highly technical enterprise network environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Network Engineering leader who enjoys being hands-on technically while also leading a team, shaping architecture, and driving major infrastructure initiatives. This leader will oversee the design, implementation, optimization, security, and day-to-day support of enterprise network infrastructure while serving as a key technical resource for complex network challenges and strategic technology initiatives.
Duties and responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of network engineers while providing hands-on technical direction.
Design, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, VPN, switching, and wireless environments.
Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Oversee network monitoring, performance tuning, availability, and reliability.
Partner with cybersecurity teams on network security, Zero Trust initiatives, and compliance.
Manage lifecycle upgrades for routers, switches, firewalls, and other network infrastructure.
Support hybrid cloud networking initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Work closely with application, server, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Lead network projects involving office expansions, data center migrations, cloud integrations, and infrastructure modernization.
Experience:
12+ years of hands-on network engineering experience.
3–5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong enterprise networking and infrastructure background.
Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments.
Strong firewall, VPN, routing, and switching expertise.
Network automation, scripting, and monitoring experience.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent experience.
