About the role:
We are conducting a search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a Property & Casualty insurance organization. This is a highly visible Senior Leadership role reporting directly to the President/CEO and responsible for leading all financial strategy, reporting, planning, and expense management for the organization. This organization is looking for a finance leader who can help run a financially disciplined, efficient, and strategically focused insurance company. This could be an excellent opportunity for a Controller or Director of Finance ready to step into a CFO role, or an experienced CFO looking for a new leadership opportunity.
Duties and responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic finance and operations leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team. Partner with executive leadership on strategy, planning, forecasting, and expense management. Oversee STAT and GAAP reporting, financial statements, and regulatory compliance. Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis. Implement and maintain strong financial controls and accounting processes. Manage the monthly close and reporting process. Oversee general ledger, expense management, and financial reporting functions. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency. Provide executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic recommendations. Support strategic planning and long-term financial objectives for the organization.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive insurance accounting/finance leadership experience. Property & Casualty insurance experience required. Strong knowledge of STAT and GAAP insurance accounting and reporting. Experience with financial planning, forecasting, expense management, and trend analysis. Systems experience such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, and advanced Excel preferred. Experience with financial system automation and process improvement is highly desirable. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills. CPA and/or MBA preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Compensation:
$250,000 to $280,000 + 20% bonus. Competitive benefits
