A growing and financially strong Life & Annuity insurance organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its accounting and finance leadership team. Assist with oversight of accounting operations and financial reporting activities. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Help ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and reporting. Assist with statutory and GAAP reporting requirements. Partner with leadership on accounting controls, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Coordinate with auditors, regulators, and external business partners. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. Help improve operational efficiency, reporting workflows, and accounting infrastructure. Assist with implementation and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Strong accounting and financial reporting background within the insurance industry. Life & Annuity insurance experience strongly preferred. Prior experience within accounting leadership, financial reporting, or assistant controller-level responsibilities. Understanding of statutory accounting principles and insurance financial reporting. CPA designation preferred. Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills. Desire to grow into a future Controller-level leadership position
