Duties and responsibilities:
Lead the accounting function and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Direct preparation of Annual Statements, Risk-Based Capital filings, MD&A reporting, and other regulatory submissions. Manage the financial close process and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of reporting. Oversee accounting for premiums, losses, investments, and reinsurance transactions. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance. Partner with auditors, regulators, and executive leadership on financial and compliance matters. Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting accuracy. Develop, mentor, and lead accounting staff while building future organizational capabilities.
Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Property & Casualty insurance accounting experience. Strong knowledge of NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles and regulatory reporting. Experience leading financial close, general ledger, and accounting operations. Background managing audits, examinations, and regulatory reporting requirements. Proven leadership experience developing accounting teams. CPA strongly preferred.
