We are seeking a Director of Applied AI & Data Science to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI solutions across a mission-driven financial services organization. This role will drive AI strategy, oversee production-grade machine learning and Generative AI initiatives, and lead a team focused on delivering scalable, governed AI solutions.

Lead AI and data science strategy across insurance, investments, membership, and business operations. Oversee development and deployment of machine learning, analytics, and Generative AI solutions. Guide AI initiatives including LLM applications, RAG solutions, and AI-powered decision support. Partner with data engineers and architects to build scalable AI platforms and production systems. Establish model governance, monitoring, validation, and responsible AI practices. Drive AI lifecycle management including performance, reliability, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with business leaders, technology teams, risk, and compliance stakeholders. Lead and mentor AI, data science, and architecture team members.

8+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, ML engineering, or related fields. 3+ years of experience delivering production AI/ML and Generative AI solutions. Strong Python and SQL skills with experience developing production systems. Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, DB2, and modern data platforms. Experience with APIs, data pipelines, integrations, CI/CD, and AI system monitoring. Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex enterprise solutions. Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries preferred. Strong understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, and model lifecycle management.
