About the role:
Client is a financially strong, globally respected commercial Property & Casualty insurance organization seeking an experienced Executive Underwriter – Construction Casualty to join its growing specialty underwriting team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Construction Casualty underwriter who enjoys owning a portfolio, developing broker relationships, underwriting complex risks, and having a direct impact on profitable growth. You'll work with an organization known for underwriting expertise, financial strength, and the ability to support sophisticated domestic and multinational commercial accounts.
Duties and responsibilities:
Underwrite complex new and renewal Construction Casualty business while maintaining underwriting profitability.
Build, manage, and grow a profitable book of Construction Casualty accounts.
Analyze exposures, contractual risk transfer, financials, loss history, and pricing to structure competitive, profitable solutions.
Develop and strengthen relationships with retail and wholesale brokerage partners across your territory.
Conduct broker marketing visits, client meetings, and renewal strategy discussions.
Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Operations, and other specialty underwriting teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Participate in strategic underwriting initiatives that support continued portfolio growth and market expansion.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across multiple specialty product lines.
Experience:
10+ years of Commercial Casualty underwriting experience.
Strong background underwriting Construction Casualty risks.
Expertise in General Liability, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and Excess Liability.
Demonstrated success managing a profitable book of business.
Strong technical underwriting, pricing, financial analysis, and negotiation skills.
Experience building long-term relationships with retail and wholesale brokers.
Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are a plus.
Compensation:
$170,000 to $220,000 15-30% bonus
