We are working with an established, highly respected insurance carrier that is investing in its digital customer experience and looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a dedicated Digital Product team. This is a unique opportunity to combine the pace and ownership of a startup environment with the stability and resources of an established insurance organization. You’ll work closely with a Product Manager, Designer, engineers, and business stakeholders while having meaningful technical ownership over both the product and the underlying architecture. You’ll have a voice in how systems are designed, how products are built, and how the engineering team delivers.

Design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software applications and services. Help shape product architecture, technical design, and engineering standards. Evaluate and implement effective design patterns with an eye toward scalability and maintainability. Build strong automated testing practices, including unit and integration testing. Participate in architecture discussions and create RFCs, sequence diagrams, and system models. Work across teams to design APIs, integrations, and data flows. Partner with Product and Design to develop new digital product capabilities. Monitor application performance and use operational data to improve stability and scalability.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science + 4 years related experience, OR Master’s degree in Computer Science + 2 years related experience, OR 6+ years of related professional experience. Strong software development and systems engineering experience. Advanced knowledge of complex enterprise software systems. Experience with application architecture, design patterns, and service-oriented architecture. Strong understanding of testing methodologies and automated testing. Excellent debugging and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to communicate technical architecture and design decisions to senior stakeholders.
